Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Course

ACLS instructor training for those currently qualified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Includes background materials, teaching techniques and aids to enable individuals to instruct others in the knowledge of local emergency care systems, understanding of risk factors, signals and actions for survival and recognition of indications for advance life support and accurate performance of same. Must have current AHA ACLS card. The required textbook is available at the bookstore, 402-844-7140. You MUST pre-register.

American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED

This course is delivered in a Hybrid format (part online and part in-person). Participants will complete online part prior to in-person skills session. The online session introduces participants to the knowledge-based aspects of Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED, as well as the skills they will practice and master during the in-person skills session. Details on how to access the online session will be emailed when registration is complete. The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED program helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults. This course teaches the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to adult and pediatric patients and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed in a cardiac or breathing emergency.

American Red Cross Babysitters Training

The purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitter's Training course is to provide individuals ages 11 to 15 with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. This training will help you develop skills in leadership and professionalism; safety and safe play; and first aid. You get the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Babysitter's Training shows you how to respond to emergencies and illnesses with first aid, rescue breathing and other appropriate care, make decisions under pressure, communicate with parents to learn household rules, recognize safety and hygiene issues, manage young children and feed, diaper and care for infants. EMR to EMT

This course is dedicated to the study and application of the knowledge and skills necessary for an individual to become an Emergency Medical Technician and provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an ambulance service or other specialized service. The course will include all applications/skills needed to apply for a Nebraska EMT license. After successful completion of this course, the individual must pass the State Psychomotor skill and the National Registry of Emergency Technicians (NREMT) cognitive examination before an individual can apply to obtain a Nebraska EMT License.

EMT Part I

This course is dedicated to the study and application of the knowledge and skills necessary for an individual to become an Emergency Medical Technician and provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an ambulance service or other specialized service. The course will include the first half of the applications/skills needed to apply for licensure as an EMT in the State of Nebraska. After successful completion of this course and EMTL-1845 the student will be eligible to apply to test for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) cognitive examination. Once the student has passed both the cognitive and practical skills examinations of the NREMT he/she can apply to obtain an EMT license in the State of Nebraska. This class contains the current information found in the National EMS Education Standards as outlined by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Student must have current CPR certification, American Heart Association-Healthcare Provider Level or equivalent.
